About Us
Letter from Anthony
As a career educator with experience in a variety of settings, I have seen many of the successes and struggles that students, families, and schools face on a daily basis. My professional mission is the same as Fairway’s: to improve student outcomes by designing and implementing solutions to support students, families, and educators. As a current high school associate principal, I am able to do this on a daily basis, and I find great joy in collaborating with all the school community members that I serve. Students will always be the number one priority, and my work with Fairway helps to extend my reach and empower families.
I started my career as a special education teacher at a therapeutic day school in the Chicago area. The school specialized in supporting students with severe emotional and behavioral needs, and it provided me with valuable experience in classroom management, deescalation techniques, crisis response, and intervention design. After a move to the Kansas City area, I became a general and intensive intervention ELA teacher at a large public high school and began working on my masters degree in school administration. These diverse experiences were essential in preparing me to be an effective building administrator. I spent three years as an associate principal and athletic director at a middle school, and I am now in an associate principal position at the high school level.
Of all my duties as an associate principal, I most enjoy problem solving for individual students and monitoring their progress. It is my goal to combine my dynamic range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, and innovative educator who can help school communities come to consensus and work together for the betterment of each student.
